You're about to get a lot of interview requests (are you ready?)
Hey reader,
The September hiring season just started for Tech companies, and if you're job searching, your calendar is probably starting to fill up with interviews.
It’s a SUPER exciting time, and I’m always looking forward to getting messages like these:
"Hi Jennifer, update: I just had the conversation with the Sales Director and it went really well. I was directly moved to the next stage to speak to the VP 😊
Also I felt really confident after our conversation.
I've learned so much from your videos and applied almost everything in the interview today. Especially in regards to how to carry yourself in the conversation and how to position yourself."
She wasn’t sure how to position herself in interviews, so she could land offers fast. She decided to use my Ultimate Interview Kit and she is smashing her interviews now!
You might know what I'm talking about. You nail the first interview, get called back for round 2, maybe even make it to the final stage... Then get the "we've decided to go with another candidate" email.
It's happening everywhere right now. Women with incredible experience making it through 1 or multiple rounds, just to get rejected. And they have no idea why.
After preparing women for 400+ interviews, I know that every single conversation matters. One slightly ‘off answer’ in round 1 plants a tiny seed of doubt that grows with each interaction. By the final round, they're comparing you to someone who nailed every touchpoint from the very beginning.
It's not that you bombed the interview. It's that when they asked "tell me about your biggest achievement" in round one, you shared an incredible story, but didn't position it as exactly what they need. When they asked, "why do you want to work here," you gave a thoughtful answer, but didn't show that you truly understand their challenges.
Those small moments add up. The candidate who got the offer positioned herself perfectly from the very first question.
The woman who messaged me figured out the secret that most candidates miss:
There are 10 questions that show up in practically every interview in Tech, and most people answer them completely wrong.
Questions like "describe your leadership style" where you say "I'm collaborative" instead of telling the story about how you got a tough stakeholder on board. Or "walk me through a challenging project" where you focus on technical details instead of how you managed up when the timeline got cut in half.
My Ultimate Interview Kit breaks down each of these 10 questions and shows you exactly what the Hiring Manager is really looking for (spoiler: it's not what you think), how to structure your answer so it lands, and which stories from your experience will make them think "we absolutely need her."
As a former Hiring Manager, I’ve been on both sides of the table, and I KNOW your experience is incredible! You just need to know how to present it strategically.
With Hiring Managers scheduling back-to-back interviews right now, you could be walking into your dream role interview next week. The question is: will you show up prepared, or will you keep hoping your experience speaks for itself?
Stop leaving interviews wondering if you said the right thing. Start knowing you absolutely nailed it.
Jennifer
P.S. That woman? She's now interviewing with the VP. While other candidates are winging it, she knows exactly what to say and how to say it. That could be you next week!
